Thursday Bible School is a Bible-based preschool/Mother’s Day Out program which serves dozens of children from around the community each year from September to May.

In 1976, Ed Spurlock, who was our preacher at the time, and his wife Vel started the Thursday Bible School program with 35 children in four classes. Over the years, enrollment has grown, and we currently have about 60 students in seven classes.

Thursday Bible School is open for children ages 2-5, and is completely free for all students, as our teachers, helpers, coordinator, secretary and refreshment crew are all volunteers.

Our preschool has been designed to teach each student to interact with and respect other students, teach them God’s Word, and the great truths about God’s people of the Bible. Our classes include the study of the home, community, state, country, social development, nature and science concepts. The aims of our program are:

1. •To help the child gain a more complete understanding of the people in the home and community, and thereby develop a better appreciation for them.
   

2. •To furnish guidance in developing essential social skills.
   

3. •To present basic nature and science concepts, and instill a sense of wonder in all that God has created for us.
   

In addition to the instruction your child will receive during Bible class, other activities such as snack time, crafts, singing, puppet shows, and special visits from the Fire and Police departments add fun and excitement to the Thursday Bible School experience.

Thursday Bible School runs each Thursday from September to early May from 8:45–11:00 AM. School is dismissed for several holidays throughout the school year, and in the case of bad weather, is dismissed according to the schedule of Farmington Public Schools.
